MONASTERIO DE VERUELA
This monastery was founded in 1145, the first of Cistercian monasteries in the province. The whole monastery keeps all its rooms within the fortified building: the cloister, that has been considered as a “stone garden”, the kitchen, scriptorium and the rooms built during 17th century where the Becquer brothers stayed and where one of them, Gustavo Adolfo, wrote his Cartas desde mi celda.
Located in the valley of Queiles River, the city offers a wide variety of monuments, its cathedral, one of the most beautiful of Aragonese Mudéjar style, its Jewish quarter or the town hall.
PARQUE NATURAL DEL MONCAYO
This park surrounds the mountain of Moncayo, the highest mountain range of Sistema Ibérico, with 2,136m.
Here we can find many different kinds of vegetation characteristic of this climate and location: oak woods, beech woods or holm oak woods to name few.
