CASTILLO DE LOARRE (Huesca provincia)
20 km from Jaca, following the road on left bank of Aragón River, we find this monastery. When Muslims invaded Spain, a group of hermits founded a community that survived until 10th century. It was in this century when a count named Galindo Aznarez II founded a monastery dedicated to two saints (San Julián and Santa Basilisa), in the same place where the hermits had lived.[/span8]
Over this monastery Sancho Ramírez, King of Aragón, built the monastery of San Juan de la Peña as a pantheon for the Kings of Aragón.
